What is a Catastrophic alarm failure? Whom do you notify?
The entire system fails or is inoperative. Immediately notify the ESS NCO who will in-turn, notify maintenance personnel.
What is a Major Malfunction?
A failure which would allow an intruder to penetrate a restricted area boundary without crossing at least one line of detection.
What is Partial Failure?
A failure which would allow an intruder to cross only one line of detection at an area with two lines of detection at the boundary.
What is the time allotted for the types of Alarm System Failure? (Partial, Major, Catastrophic)
Partial = Next Duty Day, Major & Catastrophic = 24 Hours.
What does the Authentication Procedures consist of? When would you use this?
Verify the alarm custodian’s SSN against the Alarmed Area Access Authorization Letter. When an unannounced alarm activation is received, alarm system testing is requested or whenever authorization needs to be determined.

What are IDE tests?
Sensors tests to include all BMS, motion detectors, duress devices, batteries and associated tamper devices.
What are Daily Test?
Daily duress tests conducted with all manned security forces installation gates, entry control points (i.e. Security 2, 3, & 4), SF Armory and alternate SFCC.
How long must a remote duress device be depressed?
Must be depressed for a minimum of three (3) seconds before the duress condition annunciates at the VCC.
Where will non-duty hour checks be annotated?
Non-duty hour checks will be annotated in the blotter.
What would you do if during any portion of the duress system is inoperative?
Initiate a Priority 3 work order
During a Priority 1 work order whom do you contact?
The ESS NCO in his/her office or quarters.
During a Priority 2 work order whom do you contact?
If during the weekend, notify the ESS NCO immediately of Priority 2 work orders.
