Front Back
Define Mitosis? How many stages are there in mitosis? Name them all.
Nuclear Division, Four stages Prophase, Metaphase, Anaphase and Telophase. (PMAT).
Define Cytokinesis?
Division of the cytoplasm.
Question 3
Describe what happens in Prophase.
Answer 3
Chromosomes become distinct.
Question 4
What happens in the Mitotic stage of Metaphase?
Answer 4
Centromeres of the chromosomes are aligned at the equator. The plane is called Metaphase plate.
Question 5
Describe what takes place during Anaphase?
Answer 5
Each Chromatid now becomes a chromosome. Chromosomes are being pulled to opposite stages.
Question 6
What is happing here during Telophase
Answer 6
Chromosome movement stops chromosomes uncoil to form chromatin a new nuclear membrane starts to form. The nucleoli will also start to form.
Question 7
Identify the tissue found here? Where is it found?
(Simple Squamous epithelial tissue)Structure: Flat cell very little cytoplasmFound in: air sacs of the Lungs also called Alveoli.
Question 8
Identify the tissue shown here? Where is it found and what is the structure under the pointer.
(Simple Cuboidal Epithelial tissue)Found in: Ducts of many glands & Kidney tubules. Nucleus in the center of cytoplasm often will form a ring with a lumen in the center.
Question 9
Name the tissue shown. Were is it found name two structures.
(Ciliated Simple Columnar epithelium tissue)Found in: Lines the digestive tract Small intestine, stomach or esophagus.Structure: Single layer of Colum shaped cells. Nucleus is at the basement membrane cytoplasm extends toward the apical surface.
Question 10
Identify the tissue here? Were is it found and the two structures?
(Pseudo Stratified Columnar Epithelial Tissue)Found in: Trachea Contains cells with nucleuses at various heights giving the false impression of many layers. Only has one layer. Can be consider Ciliated(This one is Ciliated). Or Non- Ciliated often will contain Goblet cells. All cells at the basement membrane, nucleuses at various heights. (Cilia hair like structure at the top and Goblet cells big space in the nucleuses underneath the cilia.)
Stratified Epithelial
Those with more than one layer
Question 12
Identify the tissue seen here? What is the structure and location?
(Stratified Squamous Epithelial tissue) Found in the Esophagus Non-Keratinized Squamous Epithelial, Keratinized Squamous Epithelial located in thick skin. Composed of several layers of squamous shape or flat often underlying cells are cuboidal or columnar Tissue can be keratinized or Non-Keratinized.
Question 13
Identify the tissue. What is the structure and location?
Answer 13
(Stratified Cuboidal Epithelial)Rare multiple layers of cuboidal cells. Found in the Ducts of some of the larger glands. Sebaceous Gland and sudoriferous sweat gland.
Question 14
Identify the tissue, were is its location, Identify the structures.
Answer 14
(Stratified Columnar Epithelial tissue)Also relatively rareLocation: Salivary glands of ducts female uterus and male urethra (No Slide present)
Question 15
Name the type of tissue. Were is it found and describe it.
(Stratified Transitional Epithelial)Location: Urinary bladder Hollow organs of the urinary system. Has the ability to transition between flat shape when bladder is full and cuboidal when bladder is empty. (bladder Slide) cells are distended or full because bladder is empty.
