The framework of the larynx is made up of cartilages. These cartilages are connected by joints, membranes & ligaments Moved by muscles Lined by mucous membranesغضاريف Cartilages : the larynx consists of nine cartilages – three of which are single and three are paired (six).the largest of the cartilages are the Thyroid, Epiglottic, Cricoid. . Paired laryngeal cartilages: Arytenoid, Corniculate, Cuneiform.

The respiratory system is divided into two parts:

Upper respiratory tract:
This includes the nose, mouth, and the beginning of the trachea (the section that takes air in and lets it out). Lower respiratory tract:

This includes the trachea, the bronchi, broncheoli and the lungs (the act of breathing takes place in this part of the system).

The nose is used to inhale air into the body. The nasal cavity warms the air as it enters, acting as filtration and purifying the air by removing any dust, pollen, and other contaminants, before it passed to the inner body.
