-maintains treatment rooms/ instruments
-prepares dental materials
-provides patient with postoperative instruction
-oversees infection control program
-performs radiographic procdedures
-performs basic lab procedures
-provides assurance and support for the patient

Examination of the nature of diseases that affect the oral cavity and adjacent structures.

Mixes dental materials, exchanges instruments, and provides oral evacuation during procedures

Describes the seated dentist and the assistant working together as a team

"six handed dentistry" extra pair of hands where needed throughout the practics

Does not work in dental office, usually a private owned lab
performs tasks written by the dentist, usually makes crowns, bridges, and dentures.

Provides new products, takes orders for supplies, and provides new product info. reps many different brands
