Describe AWS Cloud Economics
  • Agility and Scability: Allows IT resources to be increased quickly to support additional requirements within minutes.
  • Cost: Decreases costs related to capacity underuse, lack of capacity, hardware maintenance and the ability to pay only for the resources you use.
What are the Three Main Cloud Deployment Models?
  • Cloud - Fully deploying the application in the cloud.
  • Hybrid - Connecting cloud-based resources and non cloud-based (i.e. local) resources to support an application or infrastructure.
  • On-Premises- The deployment of resources on-premises, using virtualization and resource management tools, is sometimes called the 'private cloud.'
Describe the three main Types of Cloud Computing.
  • Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) contains the basic building blocks for cloud IT infrastructure (i.e. networking features, computers & data storage space). OS and apps are provided by the customer.
  • Platform as a Service (PaaS) removes the need for your organization to manage the underlying infrastructure (usually hardware and operating systems). The customer only provides the applications.
  • Software as a Service (SaaS) provides you with a completed product (i.e. Microsoft SQL Server Software). The cloud customer only needs to use the software for his/her purpose(s).
