Who was Martin Luther?
Martin Luther was a Catholic monk and the Professor of Scripture at the University of Wittenburg. In 1517, he publicly protested about the bad practices in the Catholic Church. He was on his own at first, but others soon joined him.
Who was Martin Luther King?
Martin Luther King stood up for black people, because they were being segregated and were not being treated fairly. He made a speech at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC, in 1963. He protested for freedom and equality. Now black and white people are being treated equally and fairly, everyone has freedom.
Who were Calvin and Zwingli?
Calvin and Zwingli followed Martin Luther and set up their own churches. This is called The Reformation.
What did Protestants want?
Protestants wanted the Bible to be written in English, not Latin.
