Infertility

Calander Method (Rhythm Method)
Calculate the fertile period based on assumption that ovulation occurs roughly 14 days before the onset of the next menstrual cycle; avoid intercourse at this time; Consider that sperm are viable for 48-120 hrs and the ovum is viable for 24 hrs.
Basal body temperature method (BBT)
Temp will drop prior to ovulation; method used to facilitate conception or as a contraceptive; measure temp q day prior to getting out of bed in am; influenced by variables as illness, stress, fatigue, environmental temp, & alcohol
