Word Analysis:
1. prefix: word beginning
2. suffix: word ending
3. root: main part of the word, foundation of the word
4. combining vowels : vowel (usually o) links (root to suffix) or (root to root) and aids pronunciation
5. Combining form: combination of the root and the combining vowel
Rules?
RULES:
1. read the word meaning backwards starting from suffix
2. Drop combining vowel o if suffix begins with a vowel
3. Keep combining vowel between two roots.
4. When two or more roots, anatomical position determines which root goes first.
