Action: Draws corner of lip laterally; tenses lips; synergist of zygomaticus Origin: Deep fascia associated with masseter muscle Insertion: Skin at angle of mouth Innervation: CN VII (Facial nerve)

Action: closes eye; produces winking, blinking, squinting ("blink" muscle) Origin: Medial wall or margin of orbit Insertion: skin surrounding eyelids Innervation: CN VII (Facial Nerve)

Action: Pulls lower lip inferiorly; tenses skin of neck Origin: Fascia of deltoid and pectoralis major muscles and acromion of scapula Insertion: skin of cheek and mandible Innervation: CN VII (Facial nerve)

Action: elevates corner of the mouth ("smile" muscle) Origin: Zygomatic bone Insertion: skin at superolateral edge of mouth Innervation: CN VII (Facial Nerve)
