Taiga (boreal forest) : world's largest biome
With a needle leaf forest that is cold and barren, strethces across northern europe to northern asia and northern north america, located at the top of the planet just below the tundra biome
climate: winters are cold with much snow and summers are warm, humid, and rainy
Tundra (world's coldest and driest biome)
A vast and treeless area covering the northern part of the world from latitude 55 degrees to 7 degrees north; located in the northern hemisphere, the ground is permanently froen and trees cannot grow
climate: cold, dark winter with a soggy, warm summer in which the sun shines 24 hours a day
