Way of life using graces given by God in order to create more just societies

An essential body of teachings that attempt to challenge us to: -recognize and name the injustices in our society-analyze the causes of these -learn how to respond as individuals and as a community and eradicate them

-written by Popes-edited by Bishops-provide teachings

-written by a Bishop/groups of Bishops-must have the approval of other Bishops

-deal with social justice issues from council of the Church (Vatican II)-still has authority, but not as much as the pope

-direct service-any of the corporal works of mercy(feed hungry, clothe naked, etc)

-to change the system of injustice

-political; require us to write legislatures to change laws; abortioin
