What is Social Science?
The scientific study of human behavior.
What are the disciplines in each major area of Natural Science, Humanities, and Social Science?
Natural Science- Physics, Chemestry, Geology, Atronomy, Mathmatics, and Biology.

Humanities- Arts.

Social Science- History, Geography, Economics, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology.
What are Humanities?
The arts; sculpture, drama, music, philosophy.
What is the difference between Humanities, Natural Science, and Social Science?
Social Science strives to find the patterns in human behavior. Humanities strive to find the spiritual meaning of life. Natural Science is the science of the enviroment in which humans live.
What is Interdisciplinary Research?
Interdisciplinary Research is when scientists from different social science fields come together to work on a project to better understand human behavior.
What is the Scientific Attitude/Approach?
1.) Skepticism- Don't buy into everything in front of you, ask questions, don't anything for what it is without evidence.

2.) Objectivity- Be objective, don't skew things to how you would want it but take life as it is.

3.) Curiosity- Be curious examine things and ask questions. When we examine things and ask questions we learn.

4.) Ethics- Protect people in your research, do not bring harm to someone.
How do Social Scientists approach a problem?
If possible, social scientists use quantitive data that can be reduced to numbers. They rely on statistical analysis from quantitive data to understand the relationships in human behavior. If quantitive data is unavailable, the social scientists must refer to qualitive data. Qualitive data is data that came from interviews and surveys done in the past. The only problem with qualitive data is that the facts depend on how you interpret the data.
What is Political Science?
The study of government and social organization.
What is Anthropology?
The study of human biological traits and human characteristics.
What is Sociology?
The study of people's relationships with one another.
What is Psychology?
The study of the human mind and personality.
What is Economics?
The study of how humans make a living and satisfy their needs and wants.
What is History?
The study of past events. Events in the past are used to relate events in present times.
What is Geography?
The study of the natural enviroment and how it influences social and cultural development.
What is the history of Social Science?
The science started back in the times of the Greeks when they realized that the Gods could not be the only explanation to how they came to exist on the planet. The Greeks took in Philosophy and other issues that are our social sciences today.
